Social Media Influencers Summit 2013: Trending Forwad

Wow – is the very first thing I can say. It’s been ages since my last blog post (2 years and 8 months to be exact). I've been gone from the blogosphere for too long that I’m not sure if I still know how to blog. But I know this is something that I couldn't get rid out of my system. Blogging will always be a part of me. I will always be a blogger at heart. A Cebu Blogger for that matter. I missed so many great things to share in the cyberworld. I've been gone, but I’m back now. So, wanna know what urged me to come back and make this post?

Just as I thought that I’m no longer part of the blogging industry, I received an invitation to the Social Media Influencers Summit (SMIS) 2013 by an old friend of mine, my former co-CBS blogger, the President of Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. , and the Lead Organizer of the said event, Mr. Ruben B. Licera, Jr. It was not just a simple invitation but by Premium Invitation. I was invited as one of their Blogger Partner which means I have a complimentary premium participant ticket to the event. :) I was really overwhelmed. Now, who doesn’t want to respond to that? Lol.

The Social Media Influencers Summit (SMIS) 2013 will be the very first and will eventually become an annual event. This is organized by iNewMedia Online in cooperation with Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. (CBSi). The event was set on March 16, 2013 at J Center Convention Hall, J Center Mall in Mandaue City, Cebu. Prominent social media personalities and thought leaders will be the resource persons of this event. They are expecting to bring together more than 300 social media influencers and users to share best practices from top industry leaders, set ethics and standards for users, and promote social media responsibility.

This year’s theme is: “#TrendingForward”. It is the summation of two words “Trending” + “Forward”. “Trending” means “the general direction in which something tends to move.” Each individual or company may have separate goals, but the ultimate goal of any “Social Media Influencer” is to create a buzz for its cause to make it appear on the “trending” topics of the social media networks. “Forward” is being used to depict the innovation/presentation that each social media influencer should do to reach and influence the target audience. Buzz is not created by all. It is practiced by those who had mastered it. And this craft is fast changing with the dynamic preference and attitudes of the social media users.

Another reason why i want to go to this event is because, i miss my CBSi family. Many of them are going so it's a great opportunity for me to see them again after 3 long years. :)
